Welt am Sonntag quoted an unidentified German government source as saying Trump was trying to secure the scientists’ work exclusively, and would do anything to get a vaccine for the United States, “but only for the United States.”
I keep saying I have no words left…but really, it’s my heart that’s gone.
Look away. Hope.
Let’s all be goddamn better than this.
UPDATE: “German company CureVac, working to develop mRNA-based coronavirus vaccine, did not deny being in touch with Trump or the US government, but did reject rumors of an acquisition in a statement issued on Sunday. ”
Hard to tell what’s true and what’s damage control these days. But let’s breathe a sigh of relief, regardless.
