These Traces 100 :)
One hundred of anything is a milestone to be acknowledged, I think. So, to celebrate the 100th issue of These Traces I decided...not to publish new content. I'm nothing if not consistent. Instead, I'm offering a gift of sorts: One Hundred Traces, a new book featuring selected texts and images, from 2020 to 2024. It's a little presumptuous to call it an anthology, but it does clock in at 157 pages. Not too shabby, right?
From the introduction:
“On February 7, 2020, I published the first issue of a newsletter called These Traces. A few weeks later the COVID-19 pandemic struck and this new outlet became part of a lifeline to the outside world, a way to navigate a reality none of us had anticipated. When I began assembling this "anthology" celebrating the 100th issue, it became immediately obvious that should be our starting point—issue 005, March 2020.”
Ok, so I do refer to it as an anthology. Those “ “ matter, though.
What's the gift part, you may ask? Well, the book is free. Not temporarily, but free..period. A few traces to be left behind for all to see, long after this website has dissolved into the ether.
Two more details to mention:
The download includes both an EPUB and PDF version. Up to you to choose which one you prefer, but the EPUB on an iPad displays the book exactly as intended (two-page spread).
