I don't have an editorial in me this week. There was the Google AI Overview debacle, and the Open AI v Scarlett Johansson story—both making the case for recklessness and a fairly stunning lack of ethics in this space (again). Move fast and break things doesn't quite carry the mystical aura it once did. Although it makes me even more curious to see what Apple has in store. Rumours have suggested a deal with Google to power their initial foray into AI (through Gemini). If true the company could be scrambling right about now, a few weeks ahead of WWDC. I'm not sure Siri suggesting glue as a pizza topping, or gasoline in spaghetti sauce, would be the lifeboat it so desperately needs. More like a big ol' lead suit.
