Almost Right
I find it soothing, springtime rain, once the leaves are out and they glisten and we can again bask in deep pools of green. You sit with your coffee, and you put on some music, and the world feels almost right. We closed the windows this morning, after days of unseasonably hot weather. It turned overnight, as it often does—a cool wind blowing in, dressed in bright bolts and thunderclaps.
There’s a song playing right now by Ian William Craig, an obscure instrumental unearthed from my library through a shortcut called iPod Shuffle—the Best Media Shortcut winner from Macstories’ Automation April contest. If you’re feeling those slight pangs of nostalgia in the wake of the iPod’s demise, there’s something oddly satisfying about using this instead of browsing the Music app. Add the proper icon and the illusion’s almost complete.
