New Car Smell

That’s the cliché, but honestly, I don’t know what I’m supposed to be smelling. Maybe my olfactory glands just aren’t tuned to it. Plastic? Vinyl? Oil?

I’m clearly not a car person, but there is something to a brand new vehicle. This one is extra special because it’s the biggest one we’ve ever owned AND it’s a hybrid, which is completely new territory for us. Full electric would’ve been nice but that’s still hard to find in this category. Or too expensive.

I also believe this car may come from the future—more bytes than crankshaft. Again, not a car guy, but I doubt even my engineer father-in-law would’ve been able to tinker with it. I think it flies…I’m pretty sure I read that somewhere in the user manual.

Everyone wanted a ride of course, so we picked-up the gang from their respective schools, Cynthia taking the wheel for the first time (I’d just driven it back from the dealership, 90 minutes away). Lots of oohing and aahing ensued…while we fumbled to find the volume knob.
Baby steps.

P.S Kidding about the volume. We’re not THAT bad.
