Early, again.
The lingering effects of the pandemic: our first tree is going up this morning, a few days before December, just like last year. I’ve dusted off my favourite holiday playlist, a painstaking recreation of A Christmas Gift, an old Ronco compilation from the early 70s. My sister and I would play that on a loop when we were kids, dancing like mad to Tony Bennet’s Santa Claus is Coming to Town.
Outside the rain is falling, but the drops are already thick and heavy, heralding the first real snowfall of the season. So we’re early, but the weather agrees, apparently. And besides, there’s a new variant in the news today, a press conference from authorities scheduled for this afternoon.
So lights and glitter? I’m fine with that.
