Anecdote in Six
We went shopping—with masks—on Friday. A flooring emergency...don’t ask. The word of the moment is deconfinement and not a day goes by without a new announcement from authorities on the subject. I’m finishing a film project and it’s rather astonishing to see how much difference less than a month has made. I’ll be honest: I have a strong feeling we’re headed straight into a second wave. I think too many people will forget or dismiss countermeasures, go about their lives as if nothing was wrong. We saw very few masks in that store last week. An employee (without protection) confided that they’d worn them for a day when “the bosses visited” but haven’t worn them since. Too hot, too uncomfortable. And I get it. We’re human...we want to believe danger exists only for others. And in this surreal era of disinformation bots and echo chambers, way too many people are being fooled into propaganda and conspiracy theories (not even touching the subject of that whining idiot clown). I’ve had conversations that have left me reeling.
So we’ll see.
Meanwhile, I took a few moments here and there to shoot without agenda and without aim. It felt good...to just be my shadow self again.
We’re headed to 30ºC temps this week.
