This year, the shimmer and sparkle of the season feel almost as essential as water; so we jumped in early. We brought the boxes down from the attic last Monday and put the trees together (yes, plural and yes, artificial).
The kids had a day off on Friday so I added lights to tree #1 that morning and stepped back, leaving it to the girls to hang decorations and finish the work.
I stepped back and watched the room melt away.
