Silver Rider

At times I see you You silver rider Sometimes your voice is not enough Your face in windows Outside forever Nobody dreamed you’d save the world

Except it isn’t.
Silver, that is.

My X-Pro3 was delivered Monday and I was more excited than I’d been in a long time; it was like re-connecting with an old friend. But the pre-production unit I’d shot with last summer was the black version, a very similar look to my X-Pro2 despite its titanium body. So for myself I chose what Fujifilm calls Dura Silver, one of two special coatings they’re offering on this generation. It’s the version Francis used on our promotional shoot and as soon as I saw it, the deal was sealed. The name doesn’t do it justice in my opinion: it doesn’t look at all like a silver X-T3 or X100F. It’s actually the look of titanium—not gold but goldish. I’m not a fan of gold. I tend to hate gold. But as superficial as it may sound...this is a thing of absolute beauty.

I used it around the house, dragged it to the city on a crazy cold day and brought it with me on a client shoot, way up north. This was a road trip of sorts, hours away.

I still need to go through all the new settings, set-up my presets etc. That’ll be the weekend project. But a few days in and I can tell you this: I’m back to feeling head over heels. So no narrative thread today—just a few picks from the week.
Have a great weekend
