About the 3rd edition
I never thought of 1EYE, ROAMING as the beginning of a series. The book, originally, was simply meant to compile the X100 essays I'd published on the blog. Nothing more. But by re-processing all the images in black and white—for visual consistency but also as a fresh creative take—I broke from the source material and saw it take on a life of its own.
This 3rd edition is meant to be definitive, and it probably will be. The new double-page layout introduces crosstalk between some of the images that, I believe, introduces new layers that were previously missing and that now make the work feel complete.
In 2025, I also gaze with a certain envy at the boldness and immediacy of these captures. I hope you’ll enjoy this half-forgotten world as well.
