Ordained for Easter
Quick post to let you know I've added another brick in the Karmic Editions wall: Ordained—One Man's Hope is now available for download.
Like the other books in the revised series this is an EPUB version, featuring new layouts, images, and text. But I also went back to what I'd initially envisioned, with four chapters instead of two:
One - Gathering
Two - Transfiguration
Three - Respite
Four - Becoming
To be honest I can't recall the thinking behind two chapters. The book's events took place over three days which would've been the most obvious choice. I went with four because Chapter 1 is essentially a short prelude, splitting the first day between "civilian" life and David's road to priesthood. But two? I must've had a reason at the time but it now escapes me. You'll find more details about this project as a whole in the initial announcement post.
I'm quite proud of this work, but I'd be lying if I said the book flew off the digital shelves. Religion is a touchy subject matter, and, as a non-religious person, one I'm wary of myself. This, however, is documentary work—or as close as I can get as a decidedly subjective photographer. It's not a book about catholicism. It's a privileged view into a very personal, life-changing decision. A transition we rarely get to witness.
Plus, it's now a freebie :)
Happy Easter (and Passover) to those who are celebrating. We're off for a few days, all kids home, visiting family et al.
Hope you enjoy this.
P.S The Easter release is purely coincidental. But I switched the post from Wednesday to Friday when I realized the timing.
