Oh sure, that’s what this is. Actually, there might be too much to write about. But I'm keeping calm, trying not to shout at the various screens around us, hoping for the best. Or, at the very least, for anything resembling sanity.
It's been a busy month. I was in Toronto for a few days, working on a stills and motion project. This was my first time back in the Queen City since the pandemic and, although I didn't have much time to wander, it was nice to visit again. I like Toronto. So very different from Montreal. Much less...err...orange? Sorry, that's a joke for us insiders ;)
Lightroom reached version 14.0 this week. The release adds a better AI Remove tool which, in my case, was timely: I was right in the middle of editing a bunch of images requiring tons of retouching. So I updated...and quickly proceeded to being underwhelmed. In fact, the new tool was worse than anything in the previous version. Well, Adobe apparently noticed it too: a second "critical" update appeared the very next day. I'm happy to report it now works as intended, and does a much better job at identifying what needs to be altered. I mean, replacing an extension cord with a different looking, generative extension cord instead of removing it? When you're using a Remove tool? That was silly town. It also fixes a bug requiring retouches to randomly be updated and messing up previous results in the process.
