On Certain Days We Lunge

I've often written about September's capacity for renewal.

I realize this is probably tainted by parenthood, the school year and its fanfare of new schedules, books, and shiny pencils. But leaving summer behind takes its toll, too. It's a clear dividing line for most of us.

I have two announcements today.

The first is that I'm sunsetting 1EYE SOCIETY. It's a transition not a cut-off, but new subscriptions are now closed. I've emailed members about the situation so I won't get into details, but I've posted a note about it here if you're interested.

The second announcement is that I'll be moving to Squarespace 7.1. This is mostly under the hood stuff, but there are technical requirements to the upgrade that are forcing temporary visual changes. Translation: the site is about to look kinda funky. Basically, I need to switch to a different template family in order to move, and that'll wreak havoc. The content and functionality won't be affected but... I'm warning you. I'm sad to lose the current design, but this is about future-proofing and more versatility down the road, so I think it's worth it.

From what I understand, I might also be forced to design a lot of the new website "live", in full public view, which isn't ideal. It's not the end of the world though, right? Well, fingers crossed.
