The Canadian FUJIFILM Creator Program
There's a question I've been asked too many times to count over the past decade: how do you become an X Photographer.
And it's always been a little awkward because the only answer I had to this was "well, I got an email one day". Which is obviously not helpful, and made me sound a bit...douchy.
Well, no more!
A couple of weeks ago, Fujifilm Canada introduced the Canadian FUJIFILM Creator Program. Here's the press release with all the info:
FUJIFILM Canada is thrilled to announce its new Canadian FUJIFILM Creator Program, which plans to generate more opportunities for content creators to align professionally with the Fujifilm brand. With added opportunities for creative projects, mentorship, brand ambassadorship, and networking with peers, the new program will initiate efforts to enroll up to 15 new Canada-based creators in 2023.

The brand will introduce a multi-tiered approach to the Fujifilm Creator Program, which includes Fujifilm X-Photographers, at the highest level, followed by two sub-levels for photographers who are either just entering the field or are still rounding out their photography experience: “Fujifilm Collaborators” and “Fujifilm Creators.”
This new tiered program follows the success of the expanded Fujifilm Creator Program in the U.S.A., which includes these same tiers for creators based on experience level, and currently includes 29 X-Photographers and a total of 28 Creators and Collaborators. Becoming a “Fujifilm Collaborator” is the first step to getting involved with the Fujifilm Creator Program community. Collaborators are new to the world of content creation, and to Fujifilm gear, so entering the program at this tier allows a creative relationship to build.
Based on the achievements earned and content created, the possibility opens up to move to the next step; becoming a Fujifilm Creator. “Fujifilm Creators” have a bit more photography experience and are typically called upon by Fujifilm to support new product launches, to represent the Fujifilm brand at events, and to take a larger role in brand activities overall. Members at this level, which includes both part-time and full-time image-making professionals, must have a desire to influence the community through mentoring, education, and advocacy. They also must use FUJIFILM X Series and GFX System digital camera and lens products exclusively.
Upon successful completion of the Fujifilm Creator level of the program, the possibility arises, through an application process, to elevate to the FUJIFILM X-Photographer brand ambassador level.

I think it's a great initiative and a pretty wonderful opportunity: I'd be hard-pressed to find a more rewarding partnership than the one I've been privileged to have with this company.
