A Mall. An Update.
Time flies: soon it'll be a year since I switched back to Adobe. I don't follow C1 land anymore, but I've been very happy with the pace, and content, of updates to Lightroom (both versions, but I only run Classic on the Mac). The latest release adds Point Color, a brand new tool to pinpoint and process specific colour areas in an image. This is in addition to the old HSL panel, which is now called Mixer. Both tools are accessible under the renamed Color Mixer panel:
Point Color uses swatches, each one with a set of sliders to control hue, saturation, luminosity, and range. It's a wonderful tool that's very similar to C1's Advanced Color Editor—which is a good thing. But what I'm most happy about is Adobe's continuing trend towards localization: like most recent additions, Point Color can be used as part of a Mask. HSL—on steroids—as a local adjustment. Yesss.
I think the company's been reading my mind.
There's also a new Lens Blur tool (haven't touched it yet), HDR capabilities, performance improvements etc. Nice update all around.
