Impossible Seasons
The wind picks up and the air suddenly fills with jewels. A mist of diamonds, suspended, lit by a rising star.
Snow in April is not unheard of, but it’s never welcome. Especially after weeks of summer-like weather. But on this quiet walk, bundled up in winter clothes, me, my dog and no one else around...I’m struck by how beautiful it is. All those baby leaves covered in white, pale yellows and greens, set against this unlikely canvas. Birds and ice, a warm shining sun. An impossible season.
I don’t have a camera. I don’t have a phone.
Me, my dog and no one else around. My eyes and my memory.
As long as they hold.
