The Six (that aren't Classic Neg)
These are from that ONE time I switched away from Classic Neg...and no—in spite of what you’d think—they were shot in Eterna, not Acros. Why? Classic Neg affects colours in a very interesting way that’s certainly worth manipulating in-camera. I’ve already mentioned using a -2 shadow/highlight custom preset with the simulation, and I’d often also tweak the white balance as well—usually slightly towards green. But it can add quite a bit of orange to skin tones as well, depending on lighting conditions. Obviously, there are ways to compensate for this during capture or in post...oorrrrr you can just switch to another simulation altogether. Occam’s Razor. KISS. All that stuff ;)
So the images were converted to black and white in post using Capture One 12 (1). Interesting that the only X-Pro3 images I didn’t shoot with Classic Neg ended up...without colour.
Let’s call it a momentary incursion ;)
P.S I forgot to mention: sensitivity was fixed to ISO 2000. I wanted to see what noise/grain would look like.
