This European Diary | Bahn. Frankfurt. Köln.
I didn't sleep a wink on the plane and now I'm jetlagged, slightly nauseous and dazed. It's Monday, 7AM in Frankfurt — morning rush hour and it shows. We try to make sense of the ticket vending machines but quickly give up before infuriating everyone behind us; we'll wait in line at the counter with other confused travelers.
The train is packed and we end up standing in a corner, clutching our luggage for the entire one hour trip, catching our first glimpses of Germany through a small window. When we finally reach our destination and step outside, we're immediately dwarfed by the cathedral, filling every single inch of the sky.
This is the Dom.
This is Köln.
