Hi Subscriber First Name,

Boy, if you could see our house right now: boxes piled on top of furniture, tools everywhere, a Shop-Vac in the middle of the living room with its black hose frozen mid-trumpeting. Plastic film, green tape, an old door off its hinges, a new one leaning against a wall, more boxes, more tape, newspaper carpeting the floor. And all of this mixed with dust bunnies the size of small cats (because dog hair and heat and humidity is a damn trifecta).

We've been painting the girls' bedroom you see. A fully planned and much overdue makeover, complete with multiple trips to multiple stores, and many many showers as we battle the weather and our lack of talent at applying pigments to surfaces. I did whip out the camera a few times, so stay tuned for images of the debacle.

I'm keeping it light this week: despite an onslaught of silly and/or terrifying news, summer's here. Let's have some fun :)

P.S As a Trekki, a Canadian, and Quebecer, I'd be remiss not to mention Star Trek Strange New Worlds. This was already my favourite new Trek series by far (don't get me started on Discovery...ugh), but Kirk eating poutine in episode 3? Life changing. It almost ended in tear to cheek contact...(!)
