Hey Subscriber First Name,
Can you believe it's already the last issue of 2022? I wish I had something deep and thoughtful to say, something to close off the year on a particularly high note... but I don't. As I look out the window a December wind stirs the few remaining, withered leaves, but there's not a trace of snow on the ground. This may change on Friday apparently, fingers crossed. A white Christmas is always nice, but this one truly deserves it: it'll be our first holiday gathering in two years. We're way past overdue.

The state of the world is the state of the world, and there's little we can change about it. Small steps here and there, tiny gestures that may add up over time...we can act on what's possible, and reflect on what isn't, I guess.

But real magic is simple enough. It exists in lulls and dust and movie nights in the basement. In cookies and ribbons and buttered popcorn.
