There are moments in time that will change everything without our knowledge, without even the slightest hint that anything is actually happening. Events that will unfold, passing through us, metastasizing until every single cell is modified or replaced.

During the summer of 2011 we spent fifteen days in France, moving south from Paris until eventually stopping in Nice, on the famed Côte d'Azur. But this alone wasn't a transforming agent. As a photographer what sent my entire world into a tailspin was this small camera I had purchased a few months prior, in preparation for the trip: the original Fujifilm X100.

This book is a travelogue of sorts, revisiting the images that triggered my eventual move to the X Series cameras and a different way of capturing the world around me.

Also included are 7 case studies offering a glimpse into the processing of the images as well as reflexions on capturing the moment.
