Abstracting Acrobatics | X-T1 + XF 56mm

Seeing your 10 year-old son drop from 30 feet in the air, spiralling down a long red drape as if it's the most natural thing in the world... Let's just say your heart skips a few.

I was a spectator on this one and brought nothing but my X-T1 and the 56mm lens. I wasn't going to be moving around so this was a leap of faith — it would either work or it wouldn't. I think it did, even if I do say so myself. I played the darkness card on these images and I love how the scenes become little more than glimpses of limbs and movement and bodies, a face here and there. I remain fascinated by dancers and performers alike...
