Consider that title an homage to my buddy Derek Clark’s 35mm Street blog :)

Yesterday Mr. Purolator delivered my long awaited X-T1 and 56mm f/1.2. I knew the combo would be something special… But holy c@$**… Enthusiasm doesn’t even begin to address how I feel. A lot of the excitement comes from being reunited with that specific lens, especially with a final version that’s even better than the one I used during the holidays.

I could show more images of the kids shot between yesterday afternoon and this morning, stuff I’m sincerely ecstatic about… But there’s been a lot of it on the blog lately and I wanted to give you a break. I was in town today and while I wouldn’t call the temperature very spring-like, I had to hit the street with this kit if only for 15 minutes. An 85mm equivalent is tight for street shooting but like always, it’s all about adjusting the eye to the field of view.

One thing is clear about these: I cannot wait for warmer weather. Have a great weekend guys.

Shot with the X-T1 and XF 56mm f/1.2 R.
