Ella, Christmas & Rain.

I had expected to write another Loose Ends post — but you know how life is. And since I couldn’t bring myself to finish off the year with gear, it’ll have to wait.

I sit at the computer, Ella Fitzgerald singing Sleigh Ride in the background; the girls had a sleepover and they’re all still in their pyjamas, playing Minecraft… It’s the Holidays, what the heck. Jacob spent the night at his cousins and we’ll be heading there later this afternoon. We’ve baked cookies and cake and tourtière; we’ve driven around for last minute errands but it’s all done now — well, pretty much.

They’re calling for rain on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The two days out of the year when none of us mind the snow… But looking at everything around me, at the last few remaining doors left on the advent calendar and the growing frenzy in the house, it’s hard not to be swept up by the spirit of it all.

Bring on the rain. It won’t matter one bit.

I want to thank all of you for your support, your encouragement and for making this another great year.
Happy Holidays everyone — all the very best to you and yours :)
