“We should move here!” our son exclaims when we first check-in to the motel. Through his summer-filled eyes the small bedroom overlooking the sea is a giant palace, the beginnings of a new life of adventure and discovery.
On the beach the kids search for seashells and rocks, baubles and keepsakes to fill
their drawers and their dreams. We’ll be sailing tomorrow, looking for whales under
a sheltering sky. Looking to feel small and humble
with strangers at our
side.
