I posted quite a bit this week - more than usual - and now I’m all talked out ;)
I’m going to try and get my hands on an X-Pro1 next week just to see how it handles. UK photographer David Charlwood told me he felt disappointed when he actually held the camera. He didn’t like the feel at all and was less than enthusiastic about the focusing speed. On the other hand I’ve heard completely opposite takes from others, including Derek Clark and Robert Catto. Just goes to show that beyond specs, cameras are highly personal purchases. These are tools. They need to fit us like gloves in order to do the job they’re intended to do.
I’m still reading about the camera quite a bit. A few posts that caught my eye:
- Fujifilm X-Pro1 :: Street Portraits & Post from Derek Clark
- Come to think of it… from Petteri Sulonen
- Fujifilm X Pro 1 Initial Thoughts from Kevin Mullins
- Street Photography with Fuji XPro1 from F8
- My First X-Pro 1 Engagement! from Michael Cali
On a different note: at the risk of looking like a self-promoting jerk, I’m finally trying to give Facebook a go and I need a little help. Admittedly, I have an ongoing hate-hate relationship with the big social network… The interface, the chatter, the privacy maze and the ads - it’s always rubbed me the wrong way. That said, it’s kinda hard to ignore. So if you’re out there and you care to exchange “Likes”, I’d appreciate it. Every little bit counts right?

Time to go. Have a great weekend all. Leaving you with a completely random series of pictures. The only link between them being a seven day timeframe.
