look at us      swallowed in minutia 
the mundane smashing our hopes of tri-x adventures    where foreign screams die on new land 
& frame territories    of which we were previously unaware. 
look at the weight of objects      devouring us whole    under old light & hard shadows 
as january lingers 

& february looms.
