The Fuji X10 is now official

I tweeted about this last night as soon as I read the news from @FujiGuys but here it is: the X100's smaller sibling, the X10. It's all over the web but here are a few links to check out:

I am seriously in doubt now, this or the x100. Either way it will be a replacement for the digilux 2 that i will sell to fund a fuji... The digilux will finance the x10 or put down a bother 500 for a premium fuji x100. or wait? difficult!

Have been reading all your x100 posts, inspiritational, thanks

Ronald,
It does looks like another win for Fuji. But there are important differences with the X100: much smaller sensor, no old-style manual controls for aperture and shutter speed, no hybrid viewfinder. The OVF has me intrigued but the 85% coverage is certainly not on par with its older brother. It all depends on how you intend to use the camera and what’s important to you. For me the larger sensor of the X100 is a winner for various reasons, even though I'm sure the X10 will give impressive results for its category.

However, Fuji appears to be leapfrogging on certain features: speed, 1080P video, stabilization... I think it bodes well for an eventual X200.

Glad you like the blog...
Best

Hi Ronald,

An interesting dilemma you have there, but at the end of the day, ask yourself why you were attracted to the X100 in the first-place. If it was anything to do with the big sensor - coupled with an awesome bright lens for excellent bokeh, the hybrid viewfinder, etc than the X100 is for you.

But if you prefer the flexibility of a zoom - and not a bad one at that, better video, and not too worried about a slight compromise in image quality, than definitely go for the X10. Either way, it would be a good upgrade from the Digilux. Have a great day!
