one month | my first X100 anniversary.
Monday, May 9, 2011 at 4:52 PM
Yesterday was my one month X100 anniversary ;)
I'll be writing a more extensive summary soon but let me just say I'm now at the point where the X100 has become my de facto camera - the D300 has almost entirely been relegated to work only. Amazing considering where I was coming from. Anyway, here's another series of X100 pictures from the weekend. I've gone back to shooting JPEG for several reasons I plan to explain in that next post. I'm even actually beginning to get used to it...

Nice work Patrick!
I'm looking forward to hearing about your switch back to JPG. I've been shooting raw since LR 3.4 came out, but haven't seen it as a step forward really. I wouldn't shoot anything but raw on my Nikons, but on the X100...
Thanks Jonathan,
Your street photography group is on my Flipboard and it was a big influence on my purchase decision — only fair I should give back :)
Thanks Derek :)
Interesting you should say that. I'm also 99% RAW on my Nikons (recently started playing around with in-cam BW) but I'm just not sold on Adobe's RAF processing. Or maybe Fuji simply set the bar pretty high with their own.
I have seen certain instances where DNG/RAW gave better results, I think mainly due to high dynamic range settings which can sometimes make a scene look artificial. In those cases the JPEGs weren't recoverable. But I need to play around with bracketing to see if I'm right.
Great pics Peter... I like the B&W's better, though you may have done some PP to them, regardless they are very cool. Something about the B&W's Jpg from the X100 is just sexy... Having had mine for less than a week now, i have been experimenting with a few B&W settings, so far it is fabulous! and this is just the beginning. Somehow though, i must say that i am still a tad leaning towards my EP2 w/Minolta B&W's OOC, especially with my Auto Rokkor lenses, something about that combination just gets me. Great pics again!
Cheers
Kelvin
Thanks man — but who's Peter?
;)
