Friday odds and ends

Ok, I have to admit it: I haven't been blogging a lot lately. I have a few Aperture posts in mind that I'll try my best to bring to life before… you know… summer (!)

A couple of odds and ends for the time being:

PRETTYGIRLSHOOTER

I found this through the Orbis blog. It's from LA glamour photographer Jimmyd and it's chockfull of insight about technique, clients and photo culture in general. Just be aware that it's glamour - as in nude. Comes with a Blogger disclaimer and everything. Funny how you don't get this kind of attention for shootouts on the evening news… But I digress. Here's the link.

THE MAN WHO SHOT THE SIXTIES

Courtesy of the aforementioned Jimmyd and Vimeo: a documentary about UK sixties star photographer Brian Duffy. Great look into amazing times and defining moments for photography.

AN APERTURE TIP

This one was mentioned by Kirby Krieger on the Aperture Discussion Forum - and perhaps you already know this but I sure didn't: you can use the list view in the Browser to sort with any metadata you want. I'm talking beyond the defaults provided in the  Browser window.

Basically all you have to do is switch to List view, click on the column you want to sort by and return to Browser view. The sort criteria will stick and appear above the default options. Very cool! Here's a couple of pics in case I'm not being super clear...

PROJECT 365

Just a quick plug for my 365. I'm now up to 20 and have to admit it's a very stimulating way of trying out new ideas. You can check it out here if you haven't already.

That's it. Have  great weekend!
